Clatsop County Releases Proposed Housing Amendments for Public Comment

On June 1, 2024, Clatsop County released the first draft of amendments to the Land and Water Development and Use Code (LAWDUC) to facilitate housing construction. The majority of the proposing revisions are focused on the County's rural communities of Arch Cape, Jeffers Gardens/Miles Crossing, Knappa-Svensen and Westport.  Per Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) rural communities are areas that are designated to accommodate higher densities and a wider variety of housing products. 

The public comment period will be open through 11:59PM, Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Clatsop County is considering amendments to its Land and Water Development and Use Code (LAWDUC) to facilitate the construction of new housing. Information was presented to the Board of Commissioners on October 4, 2023. A hybrid public information meeting was held on January 17, 2024.
